Planters

We can advise on planter style, material and size, source standard planters and get custom planters fabricated. We know how best to select and select and fill planters so plants stay healthy and budgets stay on track.

A few things to consider when designing an interior plantscape.

Plants are multi-functional.

One of the best things about outfitting an indoor space, like an office, with plants is that there are so many options from which to choose. Long planter boxes can create a more welcoming, natural path down hallways covered in muted tones or a lot of glass and bare walls. Shorter planters can slide in under windows and enhance any natural light that filters in. Then there are larger (7ft+) feature plants that can highlight a space with tall ceilings or act as a focal point in the room.

Plants come in many different shapes and sizes.

There is a plant that will work in any indoor space. Here are 4 things to consider with our help:

  1. Show me the light! How much light the space receives year-round is a key thing to consider. There is a plant to match every lighting level and we'll recommend the plant to match the available natural light and humidity. Some plants require very little natural light. Remember, indoor plants are tropical plants and many live on the forest floor with only a dapple of light.

  2. Repetition is key to good design. It is often best to limit your selection of plants, and planters, to create a harmonious theme to your plant layout design. Plants installed in multiples of 3, 5, and 7 tend to work great.

  3. Less is more. An indoor plantscape is more impactful when you carefully select plants and planters that complement and don't compete for attention in your indoor space.

Planters are just as important

We really like the impact a planter style, shape and size have on the overall plantscape design. We typically suggest contemporary style planters with a consistent look. We also like our planters with built-in watering reservoirs to encourage fuller plant growth.

In terms of colours, we like our gloss white planters, but we can supply virtually any colour planter. Strong colours will date quicker, while neutral coloured pots will work with most interiors for years to come. Bright coloured pots work best as tabletop pieces or as a signature piece in the entryway, or if you want pots to match a design element in your company brand image.
